The Kinebik Project is located in northern Quebec, halfway between the towns of Lebel-sur-Quévillon and Matagami and a two and a half-hour drive from Val d’Or, Quebec. The Project is located approximately 200 km to the east of Tri Origin’s 5,400 ha North Abitibi Gold Project and approximately 150 km to the east of Hecla’s Casa Berardi Mine, which has produced in excess of 2.5 million ounces of gold since start-up in 1988 and currently hosts in excess of 3.5 million ounces of gold in all categories, the largest deposit in the region. The Project has excellent infrastructure and can be accessed year-round via paved and unpaved roads. The Project is composed of 328 mining claims, making up 17,750 ha, and covers greater than 30 km of strike along the Casa Berardi Trend. Very little recent exploration has occurred on the Property, with most of the exploration having been completed between 1980-1995. In total, 47 diamond drill holes and several prospecting and geophysical surveys have been completed on the property. A 1,300-line km airborne geophysical survey is underway on the property to better define stratigraphy and structure ahead of follow up mapping and sampling.


The Project is situated within the north-central portion of the Archean Abitibi Sub-province, in the Harricana-Turgeon Belt, which comprises both the Matagami and Taibi volcano-sedimentary basins. It is underlain by the Taibi Group, which is defined by the Taibi Fault to the North, and the Casa Berardi Deformation Zone to the south. The project area is part of the Casa-Berardi Tectonic Zone, and is along strike from the Douay, Vezza, and Discovery deposits. Major lithological units comprise a mixed assemblage of turbidite-type sedimentary sequences, iron formations, lesser mafic volcanic and felsic plutonic rocks. The primary area of interest has been a significant zone of shearing and hydrothermal alteration focused at the contact between the clastic sedimentary rocks and mafic volcanic rocks.
